Wasserraben

Wasserraben

The cormorant (derived from the Latin Corvus marinus) owes its name in Germanic languages to its black colour and excellent diving skills: sea raven. Special adaptations such as the different wettability of its feathers, which is still not fully understood today, make it one of the most successful feathered underwater hunters.
