Land der Stille

Land der Stille

“Even silence speaks,” as the Sami people of Lapland say. When the morning fog over the moors and taiga of Muttos National Park is pierced by the sun, a land steeped in history is revealed. Some trees in the primeval forest of Muddus, as the national park is called today, are 700 years old (the oldest known tree sprouted in 1274 AD). Silently, these giants tell of a time long past in a place that is now considered one of the quietest spots in Sweden.
